What the sizes mean
The size is the size of the glazing inside the frame; the moulding adds its own width around it. The picture itself is 2 in smaller on every side, where the mat surrounds it:
- 12 × 16 in frame - an 8 × 12 in picture
- 16 × 20 in frame - a 12 × 16 in picture
The mat covers the outermost few millimetres of the print, so the edges are held flat and nothing important in the picture sits right at its border.
Care
- Dust the frame and glazing with a soft, dry microfibre cloth - never glass cleaner or solvents on acrylic.
- Hang away from long direct sunlight, heaters and damp.
