Why 10 mm
Most acrylic prints are made with a 1/8 in (3 mm) or 1/4 in (6 mm) sheet. Ours is 10 mm - about 3/8 in, more than half as thick again as a 1/4 in panel - and for an artwork that thickness shows:
- More depth. The picture sits behind a deeper layer of clear acrylic, so colours look richer and seem to glow from inside the panel.
- Perfectly flat, even at 30 × 40 in. A thick sheet is rigid, so a large panel doesn't bow or ripple the reflection the way a thin one can.
- A bold, polished edge. The clear 10 mm edge catches the light from the side and gives the piece a solid, gallery presence on the wall.
Why acrylic
Seen through a thick, perfectly clear panel, colours gain depth and light - the effect galleries use for photography and vivid paintings. The panel is the frame: no glass, no border, just the picture with a crisp, polished edge that catches the light from the side.
Hanging and care
- The subframe on the back carries its own hanging hardware, so it goes straight onto the wall - no frame or wire to add.
- Clean with a soft microfibre cloth, dry or barely damp - never paper towels, glass cleaner or solvents.
- Keep out of long direct sunlight, away from heaters.
