A watercolor painting of Times Square dominated by sepia tones. The streets of this tourist trap are crowded with carriages, cabs, double-decker buses, bike-riders, and civilians. The buildings are covered with musical billboards advertising Cats, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, Annie Get Your Gun, Rent, Chicago, and Miss Saigon.
Roustam Nour lives and works in New York City — the place that inspires his lively and lifelike watercolor and oil paintings. Born in Russia, he immigrated to the US in 1991. Since then, his name has become synonymous with his home city, with write ups in the New York Times and the German magazine Stern celebrating his achievements in capturing NYC on the canvas.
Nour graduated from the College of Art in Tatarstan and mastered his professional skills at Moscow State University’s Technical Design department. His work has appeared in multiple national and international exhibitions including Art Expo New York.
