This Times Square watercolor is filled with iconic tokens of New York City. Famous Broadway musicals – Cats, The Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Guys and Dolls, Rent, Tommy, Miss Saigon – frame the view of the street. Among the busy cars and omnipresent yellow taxicabs, you will recognize a red tourist double-decker. But the centerpiece of the painting is the beautiful woman in red walking towards you.
Roustam Nour lives and works in New York City — the place that inspires his lively and lifelike watercolor and oil paintings. Born in Russia, he immigrated to the US in 1991. Since then, his name has become synonymous with his home city, with write ups in the New York Times and the German magazine Stern celebrating his achievements in capturing NYC on the canvas.
Nour graduated from the College of Art in Tatarstan and mastered his professional skills at Moscow State University’s Technical Design department. His work has appeared in multiple national and international exhibitions including Art Expo New York.
We love it
This picture Times Square has gotten compliments every time we have guests over. It fits the spot perfectly and is generally very attractive to the eye. Great!
Perfect for a space in a large room. I ordered the largest available size 36 "× 24" and it looks great. Unfortunately paper backing lets down quality of whole. But on the whole, I'm happy with this picture.
I love this painting! It goes really well in my dining room. Beautiful colors and well made.
I see myself in this picture!
