Times Square is filled with musical billboards including The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, and the Lion King. Pedestrians in warm clothing go about their lives and days, and taxi cabs zoom past them on the roads. A Christmas tree stands, glowing, at the center of the busy scene.
Roustam Nour lives and works in New York City — the place that inspires his lively and lifelike watercolor and oil paintings. Born in Russia, he immigrated to the US in 1991. Since then, his name has become synonymous with his home city, with write ups in the New York Times and the German magazine Stern celebrating his achievements in capturing NYC on the canvas.
Nour graduated from the College of Art in Tatarstan and mastered his professional skills at Moscow State University’s Technical Design department. His work has appeared in multiple national and international exhibitions including Art Expo New York.
