Virtually every New York City landmark is lovingly recreated in this stunning watercolor. The centerpiece of the painting is the Statue of Liberty, illuminated by the warm noon sun in the background. The Ellis Island Immigration Museum flanks the world-famous symbol of freedom. Beyond it is the gorgeous New York City skyline, with the easily recognizable shapes of the Twin Towers, the Woolworth Building, the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building.
Roustam Nour lives and works in New York City — the place that inspires his lively and lifelike watercolor and oil paintings. Born in Russia, he immigrated to the US in 1991. Since then, his name has become synonymous with his home city, with write ups in the New York Times and the German magazine Stern celebrating his achievements in capturing NYC on the canvas.
Nour graduated from the College of Art in Tatarstan and mastered his professional skills at Moscow State University’s Technical Design department. His work has appeared in multiple national and international exhibitions including Art Expo New York.
